Project Summary
The Final Experiment is a documentary series following a real-world Antarctic expedition designed to test one of the most debated theories in modern science. Led by director Will Duffy, the project brought together researchers, skeptics, and explorers to document the journey in real time, capturing both the physical challenges of Antarctica and the intellectual tension surrounding the experiment itself.
I joined the project during its early production phase, contributing to the first six episodes that helped define the series’ tone, pacing, and visual identity.

Process
Because the series blended documentary storytelling with real-time expedition footage, the editing approach needed to balance clarity with momentum.
- Structured episodes to maintain narrative tension while presenting factual information
- Used motion graphics to simplify complex ideas without breaking immersion
- Developed a consistent visual language across episodes to unify the series
- Built pacing that could sustain long-form viewing without losing audience attention
The goal was to make viewers feel like they were part of the journey.
Final Deliverables
Impact
The early episodes played a key role in launching the series and building its audience.
- 1.8M+ total views across the channel
- 23K+ subscribers gained during the initial release window
- Featured in major outlets including Gizmodo, News.com.au, and The Sun
- Contributed to the project receiving its own Wikipedia article
The series gained traction quickly, driven by a combination of compelling subject matter and a strong visual presentation that made complex ideas more digestible.
